Level 1 – Entry:

• Intent to go on the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 1 – Tasks:

• Select 10 – 15 topics that interest you – 1 week
• Discuss topic with your Group and the Lead – Friday 6:30 pm Meeting
• Finalize your topic – Friday 6:30 pm Meeting
• Have a rough outline of your speech ready – 2 weeks
• Realize that the road to a TED talk is tough but achievable and rewarding

Level 2 – Duration

• 3 weeks

Level 2 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 2 – Tasks

• Write the first draft of your speech – have 3 items of argument in the body of your speech
• Save it on the Google Drive and share with the group
• Lead will review and provide suggestions/direction
• Realize that you are part of a team and it’s important to follow the direction or explain why you wish to differ on anything.
• Conduct research on the 3 items of argument listing 3 sources (Book, Scientific / Professional Paper, Interview)

Level 3 – Duration

• 4 weeks

Level 3 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 3 – Tasks

• Write the second draft of your speech
• Save it on the Google Drive and share with the group
• Lead will review and provide suggestions/direction
• Realize that you are part of a team and it’s important to follow the direction or explain why you wish to differ on anything.
• Look for 10 jokes & 10 quotes related to your topic

Level 4 – Duration

• 4 weeks

Level 4 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 4  – Tasks

• Write the third draft of your speech – this draft should have a humorous twist.
• Save it on the Google Drive and share with the group
• Lead will review and provide suggestions/direction
• Realize that you are part of a team and it’s important to follow the direction or explain why you wish to differ on anything.
• Practice your speech 3 times
• Deliver your speech with the 5 delivery requirements.
• Keep improving on your speech
• Look for 10 pictures that support your speech – Identify the owners and context (which magazine, etc).

Level 5 – Duration

• 4 weeks

Level 5 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 5 – Tasks

• Practice and evaluate your speech over yoodli or other app at least 5 times.
• Update you speech as needed.
• Memorize the speech
• Save it on the Google Drive and share with the group
• Lead will review and provide suggestions/direction
• Realize that you are part of a team and it’s important to follow the direction or explain why you wish to differ on anything.
• Record your speech over video – this will be your SYM Lanes speech.

Level 6 – Duration

• Depends upon available Date

Level 6 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

Level 6 – Tasks

• Deliver your speech as a TED Ed Student Talk

Level 7 – Duration

• Depends upon available Date

Level 7 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

• Deliver your speech at a TEDx Youth Event (Subject to License approval)

Level 8 – Duration

• 1 year

Level 8 – Entry

• Intent continue with the TEDx path (submit form)

• Become a TEDx Co-Mentor
