USPS – Informed Delivery

USPS Informed Delivery is a free service offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS) that provides users with digital previews of their incoming mail and packages. The service is available to residential customers and some business customers.

To sign up for Informed Delivery, users must create an account on the USPS website and verify their identity. Once their account is set up, they can view grayscale images of the front of their incoming mail and track their packages. The images are usually available by 9:00 AM on the day of delivery.

In addition to the mail and package previews, Informed Delivery also provides users with other features, including the ability to:

  • Schedule redelivery of packages that were missed
  • Hold mail when they are out of town
  • Leave delivery instructions for carriers
  • Receive email notifications for certain types of mail, such as Priority Mail Express and important letters

Informed Delivery can be a useful tool for individuals who are expecting important mail or packages and want to keep track of their deliveries. It can also help users identify potentially fraudulent mail, as they can see images of all their incoming mail before it arrives in their mailbox.

It is important to note that Informed Delivery is not available in all areas and not all mail pieces are eligible for previews. Additionally, users must have a physical address and cannot use a PO Box for this service.
